A mass out brake of a Virus...not one that make the dead rise...but kills large number of people lets say like 75 to 85 %. Well there are a large number of nuclear reactors around the world...and not all of them would be manned or shut down properly and would go into meltdown…large amounts of toxic waste all over the place. That would kill or transform the living or could raise the dead?….just and idea have been going over here at work instead of doing my job. Any thoughts??? Sorry, picard, but nuclear reactors have many safeguards and would shutdown automatically if any fail safes were tripped. Besides, all reactors are manned at all times and if the operators suspect problems, they would initiate the auto shutdown.
In addition, radiation, whether it is alpha, beta or gamma, destroys tissue cells and viruses. Lower doses of radiation result in people cancers years down the road and even if the overall dose was low, it would take months or years for a virus to mutate. A virus mutating into something that raises the dead is pure fiction!!
However, a more virulent strain due to normal mutation or accelerated by doses of radiation is always possible. BTW, evolution is just normal mutations becoming the dominate species.

Close, but no cigar. However, I did give up on nuclear physics, when Pres. Reagan won the cold war (no more nukes needed) and Hanoi Jane Fonda destroyed the nuclear plant industry with her lying piece of propaganda called "The China Syndrome".
