if mankind could mobilize and the governments could recruit, draft and gain support from people in order to fight the living dead.  How do you think they would do about it?  posters? short film trailers before movies. or army ads showing soldiers fight the Necros?? I have always wanted to see an ad like that.

i dont think their would be time to do any real propaganda. The breakdown would cause public disorder, looting, and media frenzy. I think some people may band together with the military but most people would just try to flee or hide.

its hard to say if the armed forces would break down.  some are still patriotic.  others afraid of being cowardly or shot.  others know if they fail the world fails.

I was pretty much thinking along the lines of telling people they were now enlisted at the safe zones, and then branching out to little communities from there.

I think everyone still uninfected/breathing would be a recruit by default. Either that or a victim to be, real soon. If I were in charge of some group of hold-outs, no matter how big, I would expect everyone of them to either know how to use a firearm or be learning. Anyone that is unwilling to defend everyone, with the exception of small children or the very elderly can leave. Period. No room for slackers. Harsh maybe but welcome to the brave new world.

MZH - I think "FIDO" had one in it?(motivational film ad?) Anyway, I think on a large scale everyone would be "in the Army"  - Smaller scale - grunts would love it.

with most of our UK forces off fighting a war (were only a little island you know)    we would suffer, the prime minister will ask for calm but it wont happen, the police and armed forces that are left would be overwhelmed especially in london... and other major cities in the uk.. people imo would sooner seek refuge than fight, well until weapons could be handed out to the survivors...   gun control is a bitch

sometimes the situation calls for a tyrant. Of course things have to get pretty bad for that to look good.

Yeah, we're all very indoctrinated to think that any other economic or government system is bad, i.e. dictators or communism or anything that isn't purebred American democracy (though to certain extents that does hold water).

They say that Communism and such do not work, but in fact they do. Just only on a smaller scale. Communism won't work in America because we're just too big for it. On a small scale, it does just fine. If we had 500 survivors of some titanic accident stranded on an island, Communism may be the best system.

Back to the point: I have no helpful input.

Oh man! Ceasar and Stalin are rolling over in thier graves with that comparison. At least they were real world leaders, bad, meglomaniac, murderous leaders but still leaders. Obama couldn't lead a cub scout troop across the street. And never has.

Well democracy is the worst form of government, except for all the others. Heard that somewhere

communism. is one of those things that sound great on paper. but good old human nature messes it up. democracy is the same way

Bessie Braddock: "Winston, you are drunk, and what's more, you are disgustingly drunk."
Churchill: "Bessie, my dear, you are ugly, and what's more, you are disgustingly ugly. But tomorrow I shall be sober and you will still be disgustingly ugly."
