The third-ever Morningstar Saga Contest.  Z and I spoke of this briefly and decided we should, but unfortunately he passed on and I wanted to do it in honor of Z.

So, here are the rules:

Keep it clean; I don't care how many curse words you use, I just want to be able to read it--good grammer and spell check, please.

Keep it small--under 10 pages.  If you need another page or two, that's fine by me.

This is for Morningstar 'Verse fiction.

Now, here's the prize:

One of my two copies of Among Madmen by Jim Starlin and Daina Graziunas.  It's an excellent book full of great Illustrations.  Here's a link:

http://www.amazon.com/Among-Madmen-Jim-Starlin/dp/0451450035/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1264027343&sr=8-1

Email me at Mofozombieslayer@yahoo.com with your .RTF of the document.

Deadline is the... 1st March.

Good luck, people.

Yeah, that book is amazing. RCS suggested it to me a year ago, and it is definitely worth it, so go write some great stuff!

Okay, I have to say, I've been lurking on the sight for a long while.  I've watched the unfortunate drama unfold after Z's passing, and almost wrote off coming back.  This however was enough to get me to join AND post...which I never do.  I've been looking for a forum to get honest opinions, lord knows I'll get them here!

and im assuming the 10 pages is in times new roman, 12 font, or is that problem solved with .rtf format?

Rich Text Format.  As long as you write it in Wordpad, Microsoft Word, OpenOffice, etc. it should be good to go.

Size 12 Times New Roman is actually my preffered font and size.

And what Unholy said.

I will.  I don't see Sage around enough to ask him, and well, nor have I seen Alex.

If they want to, reply and be heard, fellas.

I would prefer to have a vote by the members to pick a winner.

I like that idea. However, if many stories are submitted, then I wouldn't mind if the mods pick the three or so finalists.

Well, for my part I get so little time to write it's just nice to have a chance to test my writing chops.  I could be writing 10 pages of crap for all I know.

Time extension?  Let's push it back one--maybe two--months.

April 1st.

How's that sound?

Sounds good to me. So April fools day all stories submitted and say April 15th Tax day is the vote? Just throwing that out there.

After a Chatroom convo, we decided we'll see when we get all the stories in about that deadline for reading.

Writers:

When you post your story after April 1st put it in the MSS Fiction section and make the beginning of the title read " Contest Entry - (your title) "

Readers:

After the stories are posted, we'll sticky a poll thread so you can cast your vote.
