I'm with you on that one! Based on similar experiences, something like that going through your leg would push its way into you, and just mash the tissue out of the way, not cleanly go in. It wouldve just blew out his lower leg and ripped out.

I had a secondary thought when Rick was staring at the dead cops with "Scratches" why was that empathized and how will it fit into the story? Especially after all the gore these people have splattered in their face from time to time.

Also the blood letting for bait that seemed to be something new.

One other thing that is sort of a pet peeve of mine that I've seen in countless movies .....cutting your hand or finger to get some blood. Having worked with my hands most of my life it is usually the last place you want even a small cut because it takes forever to heal when you have to be constantly using them packing more crap into the wound not to mention the discomfort every time you pick something up and it''s usually harder to keep a clean tight bandage on. If you have to have a few drops of blood for whatever why not from the back of your arm or some other place that is not always being irritated?

Saving ammo is one thing, but putting yourself in extreme proximity with an infectious pathogen that has a 100% mortality rate dosnt seem like the better alternative.

-Attacking a walker with a knife or a melee weapon should be the LAST  thing you do IMO. The risk of exposure to infected fluids, or getting bit is far too great. Distance=safety. It makes for great tv fantasy (as does the entire zpaw scenario) but if we're gonna discuss tactics, lets be real. Blunt trauma to the head causes alot of splatter and would get all over you, and if you use your knife, you better throw it away, because your knife is now useless unless you have access to an autoclave to sterilize it. (same as daryls re-usable arrow)

I think that's an experimental strategy that will be abandoned pretty soon, or just as soon as someone gets bitten.  I couldn't really tell, but I think Shane's knife gets jammed in a walker's skull and he loses it, which I think may be foreshadowing the difficulties of that strategy to come.

And while we're being realistic, it would take a lot of force to penetrate the skull like that.  It couldn't be done without a brace behind the zombies head.  Doing it one-handed through a fence would just put gashes in his forehead.

Combination prediction/wish here:

Considering the way the writing on the show has changed in season 2.5, and considering how much people seemed to like his character... you think the black guy we saw with his son in season 1 makes a cameo, or returns in some way in the future?

What if he takes Tyrone's role (did we ever learn his name?), and/or his kid takes Sophia's role in the comics as Carl's companion?  Or maybe Rick sees him as a shambler in the season finale.  He never did bring himself to shoot his z-wife.

I was wondering about that too, Dooms. If he doesn't show up in Ricks group maybe he'll be a spin off of some kind like they did with Spartacus and Gods of the arena or all those Law and Order and CSI clones. That would actually be cool to follow a second group in the same universe. Maybe just wishful thinking.

Where the Hell did that black guy go. There has been no involvement with him in a LONG time. And by black guy, I mean the one that was already with the group. I just forgot his name.

Tyrone.  Yeah he and a few others were MIA last week.  Hershel's name was only mentioned briefly and then forgotten about.

I heard one theory that they're only going to start using characters that are more central to each episode's narrative in order to bring more focus and to skip a lot of dialogue.  I wonder if it may be a way to account for what's rumored to be a smaller budget for this season.

The reason theyre checking the zombies  for bites is because all you have to do is die and youll come back as a zombie.

I agree with you! I really liked the show tonight! I bet Carl regrets not pulling the trigger!

Yeah, this episode kinda pissed me off. Dale was the voice of reason. And i know the show is straying from the book, but Dale was around for like 11 or 12 of the books. Oh and i think the kid they were going to kill's group is going to turn out to be like Woodbury ( i think thats the name of the Governor's town) and the prison is just going to be skipped

I was shocked about Dale gettting killed. I have most of thye books and you are right he is in a bunch of them. Then again, Shane wasn't suppose to make it to the farm...he is still walking and breathing

I know Shane was supposed to die and all, but I did not expect him to go out like this.  I have not read the Comic, so I have no idea how he was supposed to go out. You get the idea that he is coming around, especially after the heart to heart with Lori, but I guess the PAW does that to you... Also what the hell HBK no analysis last week. Stop slacking and give that shit up.

In the comic Shane had a gun on Rick and Carl shot him in the neck. He died and was buried. This was before the farm. They weren't suppose to be there this long. Rick went back after some time to Shanes grave to see if the walkers are "Romero zombies". Shane dug himself out and Rick shot him. Anyways the show did it backwards. Rick killed living Shane and Carl killed reanimated Shane...still good though IMO. A knife to the gut is not a good way to go....still has to be better than what Dale went through though.
