Need I say spoilers below.....

Good episode. I like how the Governor got introduced. Wasn't sure what to make of him till he attacks the Guard convoy. Looking forward to more of his psychotic behavior.

The actress that plays Michon doesn't seem like shes got it together yet as far as her performance. Her hammy style was distracting.

I missed most of yesterdays episode because of the stupid Tiger game.  Grrrrrrr so frustrated with that...anyway I was flipping back and forth and saw the gist of it, but I need to watch the whole thing again because I never miss a second....it took my favorite team playing in my favorite sport in the biggest game of the year to keep me away.

Gotta get on the DVR bandwagon, bro. I missed it yesterday too, but I just watched it right meow.

I agree with Alex's opinion of the Governor's introduction. They do a really good job or keeping you comfortable yet apprehensive with how he's running the show in the town, up until the end of the episode there where you see his true colors, so to speak. As a psychology major (though not necessary pathology), he should hopefully turn out to be a pretty interesting case study.

I also like how they used Andrea's exposition with Merle to delineate the time lapse between seasons 2 and 3.

Anybody know why he picked up Laurie and Michone and killed everyone else?

Only reason I can think of is they are breeding stock for his little empire.

Yeah this is what I was thinking.  Plus he does not see them as a threat so why bother.

Meow when Rick finds out about this little town and Andrea and what the governor is doing I am sure there will be problems.  For meow I think he gives them a false sense of security only to meow on them later.

Did they show who was watching Carol from the woods?  Did they show it was Merle or someone else in that episode?

That gives Merle's ""Hey! Blondie!" a slightly creepier tinge.

And I still don't know who was looking at Carol.  I don't think it was Merle or he wouldn't have been so nostalgic about his brother.  I heard a rumor a while back that they had cast somebody as Tyrese for season 3, but I didn't see anything on imdb.

License and registration, CHICKEN FUCKER

And I agree with Alex and JBGay (har har har) on why the Gov'na probably picked up the ladies. Likely for the same stereotypical reason any guys picks up a lady.

I had to watch this twice cause I couldn't believe it the first time.  It was an awesome tho totally unexpected episode.  They said on talking dead that the guy watching Carol from the woods was the guy who had opened the gates and turned on the generator.  I can't remember his name.... And was Lori really dead when Carl shot her?  hmmmmmm

Yeah I thought they would have given an extra couple of minutes on that one.  No pulse taken or nothing.  And why is "the baby more important than me?"  That baby's a liability now, and he will be for the next six years lol.

I think it's kind of a symbol and hope for humanity.

Well so long Lori, T-Dog nice knowing ya!

2 of the characters I was in favor of offing long ago. Looks like the one prisoner will take T-Dogs place after killing the crazy prisoner who managed to live after being locked in a yard with zombies.

I am a little surprised they did not completely clear out the prison before going outside...maybe they did and the crazy prisoner let the ones in who were chasing Glenns group and Loris group.

I have no idea why Andrea would trust Merles opinion on the governor. I know she wants to feel safe and not a victim anymore so she desperately wants to believe the town is a great place, but from the looks of it the governor seems a little off.

I wonder how much longer before one of Ricks group comes into contact with one of the governors people. I can see maybe 1-2 more episodes of fluff/filler/story building before they meet up in some capacity.

What is going to happen to Rick now?  He always went to Lori for assurance.  Is he going to lose his shit now?  My wife cried at the end when Rick starting crying....I came close.

Anyway, of course I thought it was an AMAZING episode. The show can, literally, do no wrong IMO.

"Most depressing episode ever" is what my girlfriend said when it ended, and I agreed.  But I feel like the events of that episode have helped galvanize the group.

The way Rick reacted, I think with each death they grow more and more protective of each other and more weary of death.  At the end I couldn't help but think what an amazing conflict they've laid the foundation for between the group and the Governor.  Losing Lori and T-Dog in such heroic and gruesome fashion and introducing a baby sets up a powder keg of emotion, and it's going to be a vicious fight when Rick and the Governor finally butt heads.  Rick's not going to let anybody die, and the Governor has never known defeat.  It's going to be a fucking war.

Pretty interesting stuff. SPOILER ALERT FROM 11/11 EPISODE

So Rick basically snapped, for the time being. Looks like he may have his wits back by the next episode, but we'll see.
When Daryl and whats-her-face were on the motorcycle coming back into the prison, did anyone else notice how risky that shot was where Glenn was covering them? He shot a zombie that was next to them as they were about to ride in the gate, but they were pretty close in the scheme of things. Risky shot, Glenn! Can't get too squirrely!

I agree.  I would not have taken that shot--but because it wasn't close enough to the bike for me to be able to justify the noise.

Yeah most of the time they have or use their guns out when they don't need to. Glenn was walking around looking for Rick with his handgun out earlier too (in empty corridors). You'd figure he'd be walking around with a melee weapon as his primary and only pull his pistol when he needs to.

Unless, of course, he went in there under the assumption that Rick was off his rocker. But I don't know if that's the case.

Also, I was just watching Pootie Tang, and even in that movie the shooting looks better than it does in this show. But TWD has substance to the writing so I don't really care. It was just a funny spectacle, seeing a low-budget comedy with better firearm production.
