Well nice ending to the Shane arc it ended the only way it could have with one of them dead, but i really have to say Shane as a former cop he should have been able to doctor the sitution better so it looked less suspicious because frankly the "escape" looked a little too neat.

Stop slacking and give that shit up.

In the comic Shane had a gun on Rick and Carl shot him in the neck. He died and was buried. This was before the farm. They weren't suppose to be there this long. Rick went back after some time to Shanes grave to see if the walkers are "Romero zombies". Shane dug himself out and Rick shot him. Anyways the show did it backwards. Rick killed living Shane and Carl killed reanimated Shane...still good though IMO. A knife to the gut is not a good way to go....still has to be better than what Dale went through though.
Looked to me like he got him in the heart, a gut wound would have taken much longer to kill him.

Yeah that was definitely a heart shot. And as for the cover up it was obvious that Shane wasn't entirely in the right state of mind at all, especially after the talk with Lori.

I wasn't paying attention when he stabbed Shane. I was writing a paper so I was glancing occasionally.

Have to say I liked the way they did it in the comic better.  I'm not complaining that they didn't stick by the comic, but I was hoping the big "reveal" that bites weren't needed would have lent itself to a much more dramatic scene between these two guys.

In the comics, as James said, the two things happened much further apart.  In the prison, something horrible happens that makes them realize you only have to be dead to be a walker.  After that incident, Rick gets that "I gotta take care of something" look on his face.  He hops on a motorcycle and rides allll the way back to where they buried Shane, stands over his body and says something like, "I know you can hear me, Shane.... Get up!"  And Shane sits up in his shallow grave (I thought it was funny they made Shane one of the "lazy" zombies that just sits around).  Rick has a few words with shamblin' Shane, puts a bullet in his head, and rides back.

I was looking forward to that, and I thought something like that would have been a good way to give Shane a cameo a few episodes down the line.

My favorite thing about this episode though was the cinematography.  That view of the woods through Carl's binoculars, and the moon over the open fields... Wow.

Was that foreshadowing?  Lol you're a genius Creeper.

Tonight's episode was my favorite since episode 1.  They really pulled out all the stops with this one.  I wished I had AMC just to see the Talking Dead they had on afterwards, and I look forward to JBK's feedback now maybe as much as I did this episode.

I feel sorry for...what was that kid's name?  Joseph?  I think they only showed him twice this season, and one of those was him getting eaten in the camper.  I think his only line in 13 episodes was "AAAARRGGHHHH!!!"

Loved the season finale. I'm super excited to see Michonne! Also, im starting to get worried that the further they go, the less likely it is that that black dude and his son will be making a re-appearance

only got to see first 5 minutes, and asbout 15 min in middle, it comes on just as i am getting ready for work. saw up to where they all met up at highway.

loved darrells line about swerving car, figured it had to be an Asian driving

i havent read the books. i figured they would kill off a lot of hershels excess people, was a lil surprised the suicide daughter got out.

I also thought they would get rid of carol, she's kinda annoying.

i was talking to a guy at work that saw it, he told me about the guys that saved andrea, and something about a hooded figure and a prison in background.  i'm guessin thats the governor guy ya'll are always goin on about. and my money says its Merle.   which if it is, its gonna be real interesting when darrell meets back up with him. could also suck, would hate to see darrell choose the wrong side and die. frankly him and glenn, and maybe maggie are the only ones of the bunch i'd want in my group in this sitch.

I missed the first half of the episode where they met darrell in the 1st season.  What was his background? He's a "country boy" and his motorcycle has the "SS" runes on the gas tank. Was he a racist who simply put aside the petty differences for the group, or is that someone elses bike?

Daryl: Loved the comment about 'well today is as good as any!' when Herschel said he was staying to fight and would die at the farm. He didnt just take off...he stuck around to help protect everyone...even picking Carol up. She would have been toast. That whole scene was shot really well IMO. It must have been hard making sure everything looked authentic. It could have very well turned out gimicky if not shot well. When they came around in the cars...it looked very Romero 'esque' the way it was shot.

Andrea: Loved how she kept fighting. She was taking walkers out all over the place...I do have another small problem witht he timing and how that played out. It was light when Randall got away. Dark when they went looking for him and dark right after Rick killed Shane and then a 20 minute barn fight and Andrea is running through the woods with SLOW moving walkers on her trail and it is light again. I think Michonne is going to teach Andrea a thing or 2 and turn Andrea into a certifiable badass.

Lori: Give me a break. Tell him to kill him and then he has NO CHOICE but to kill him and THEN you get mad? lol She just does not seem to be a relateable character.

Rick: Needed to get even more badass on the group at the end. I love how he came out and said he killed his best friend FOR the group....and they are STILL whining. Even Glenn. Shut your trap Glenn and go fetch the group some supplies...it is your purpose with the group.

Herschel: I knew he was going to make it because of the baby.

Maggie: I have to admit I thought she was toast and I was surprised she made it.

T-Dog: I think he may be gone soon. For some reason I think the group is going to meet back up with Merle and T-Dog and Merle are going to get into it and either T-Dog dies or after he wins he leaves the group for the coast. Sounded like he REALLY wanted to go to the coast.

Random notes:

When the group split I was worried they were going to end the season with everyone split up. My wife even commented and said "how are they going to find each other?" I was stumped and didn't have an answer.

THEN I thought Herschel was going to talk Rick out of staying and they would have to take an episode or 2 with them trying to find each other.

It seemed logical for everyone to meet up at the highway and for once I am glad Lori is a little raggy because T-Dog wanted to go to the coast.

Loved seeing the prison at the end. Michonne....I knew she was coming, but do not know alot about her character. I knew she had the walkers on leashes and she was good with the sword.

I wonder how long Andrea and Michonne are seperated from the main group? I am guessing it is going to be a little bit to give Michonne time to teach Andrea some more useful skills.

I am guessing the week before Halloween or even the day when season 3 comes out.  Any word on that from anyone?

On the talking dead Andrea "Laurie Holden' said she was excited to get back to work.  I always assumed they shot live action while the show was in progress.  I know they typically keep secrets from the actors because I recall Shane saying he was surprised when he had to become a walker.

I was just surprised they havent started shooting yet.  Or have they and I just heard her wrong?

They didnt really get any backround on him.  We first meet him when Rick comes back with Glenn and the others after leaving Merle on the roof.  I noticed the SS on the motorcycle also and wondered if it was his.  Even if he picked it up he seems like the type of dude who may have something like that on his bike for shock value more than anything.

Daryl is a new character right?  He was not in the comic?

I would guess if it was his he just put that aside especially after losing Merle.  I think Merle was the real bad dude and Daryl was kind of the kid brother who took after his older brother...kinda like American History X.

Creeper, I read online...I think on the AMC website, that they are planning to bring back Morgan...run a google search, this is one of the popular FAQ...

JBK..I remember seeing somewhere they are going to start shooting in April or May...They have to jump on it right away if they are going to deliver it in the fall...

Not originally.  But they did just introduce a mysterious character with a crossbow a couple issues back.
