A well-written book is a well-written book, despite one's opinion on the subject matter. I agree, the concept is "gay." But regardless, the series is very well made.

For instance, and this pains me to say: I think the subject matter of MSS is much cooler and much more bad ass and gnarly. It's also more adult-oriented. But, I also think that the HP series is written better. If you've actually read them, you should understand what I'm talking about.

Nah, it's true though. There are SO many people who would be quick to write it off as faggy. I was one of those guys for a while back in high school before I read them. But it's pretty true.

And Evil, I can't believe you just casted the Cruciatus curse. That's unforgivable, you know.

I know, but you saw the way RCS was treating HP; like a piece of meat!  I had to I jus-

It was justified.

Alex, I need some of your juices in my mouth.

I've been dropping that line in RL so many times lately. They show those previews all the time still, so luckily my in-group gets it.

I believe that the vaccine itself will take a long time to come up with and the best they can hope for is the safety and chance to work on one.  I don't think the vaccine is something that will miraculously pop up the second Stiles gets there.  These things don't happen in that sort of timeline.

If they're lucky, they may get it figured out by the time Anna is an old old woman.  If they're very lucky.  She wasn't the one doing that sort of research and that sort of stuff matters, especially if she can't get her hands on the research that was done.

Having Stiles though or any other seemingly immune individual goes a long way towards finishing the puzzle.  It's a big piece, but by no means is it the only one.  It's not as simple as drinking the guy's blood or having sex with him.  His immunity won't transfer like a virus itself.  I don't think that is even possible.  It just makes their lives a lot easier to figure things out, because it cuts down on the monumental amount of guess work and trial and error it'll take to make a vaccine.

In short, I don't think Z was the type of writer to give a miracle cure...  I think he was far too pragmatic and realistic to do that.  I do believe however, he'd have left the story with a bit of hope and that hope is the idea that Anna or someone else can eventually make a vaccine in the distant and clouded future of the MSS world.

On the contrary... Maybe Z just liked the Stiles character so much, that he couldn't bring himself to truly kill him off.  Thus giving rise to the possibility of immunity.  Stiles was pretty awesome, so... It's not that implausible.    In which case, it was just a good way to keep a cool character in the story and give the reader a bit of hope.

It could also end up like 28 Weeks Later and Stiles be immune and a non-symptomatic carrier as well. Or, they could do as you said and some how come up with a vaccine, not a cure though. Demilio already said that there cant be a cure, even for the sprinters. Their bodies couldnt handle the amount of strain it wold have to take to kill the virus and heal itself properly, and even if it did, the surviours from the infected injected with a cure wouldnt be the same at all. Their brians have been fried to the point of primal insticts are the only thing intact, if they came out of it, they would be mentally handy capped, or so i would think.
