LA cop i think
Had a friend along who was also a cop that got killed
Found people in a school to hold up with
He had the idea to go back to his police station which he actually does
There was a jackass that stole his car
It was a overall good book, You should look into it.

John Janovek: It appears the Germans are bad, very bad.
George Luz: You don't say! The Germans are bad, huh?
George Luz: Hey Frank, this guy is reading an article that says the Germans *are bad*.

Hold on.  I think I know what you're talking about... Wasn't he in San Antonio?  I found this book in my brother's library and read a few pages, then set it down.  Not exactly my forte.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, the other forum wouldn't show this thread.  It was odd.

(Heh, that ought to teach people not to read websites over my shoulders.)

Just to clarify, I've never touched a real gun and have no military background.  I can not take apart a rifle in the dark, tie bows all over it and put it back together while handcuffed either.

Hey Fantastic sorry brother I'm also like Zee, I don't have any military training but i only have a basic grip of handling pistols. Can I message you about weapons too for my writing? Like right now I'm at a road block trying to think of a very powerful semi-automatic long range shooter. Any suggestions?

You sure can PM me.  I'd like to help out any way I can--may I ask why it has to be semi-automatic?

Sure, Well my character is being assaulted at his 'safe house' and As they bash down the doors below him he's trying to pick off a lot of them, and since my main character is only about 16ish he obviously can't pull off great shots with a manual. I suppose Automatic would be fine though

Semi is fine.  Thought you were asking for a semi-auto hunting rifle.

16ish is an odd age.  What state do they live in?  Is his father an avid hunter--would he give the boy the present of a rifle for one of his birthdays? Yadda yadda yadda... All these have to be answered before a good consideration can be made.

First thing I would say is a SKS rifle.  A year and a half ago they can be bought for $179 at pawn shops.

I own Dead City, and it was my least favorite zombie story I've ever read. I've read all my zombie books at least twice (except Thunder and Ashes, since I just got it and finished it), but Dead City just sits and collects dust. It was relatively tastless, for a published book I thought. RCS, your story, even though only a short, was quite a bit better I think. I'd be excited to read more!

I have my own story, not set in the Morningstar universe (started it before I read the Plague). It's at about 15 pages in Word so far. I'll have to post it up here.

if ur lookin for military grade then theres the M1A .308. that things deadly accurate with a scope. If not, theres always the ruger mini-14 (ranch rifle edition has scope rings) .223, but its more mid than long range

You're suggesting that we take some fucking parking shuttles, and reinforce them with some aluminum siding, and then just head on over to the gun store and watch our good friend Andy play some cowboy movie jump-on-the-covered-wagon bullshit. Then, we're gonna drive across a ruined city, through a welcome committee of a few hundred thousand dead cannibals, all so that we can sail off into the sunset on this fucking asshole's boat?
[Points to Steve]
CJ: And head for some island that for all we know doesn't even exist?
Kenneth: Yeah.
Tucker: Pretty much, yeah.
Ana: [nods her head]
Michael: Yeah.
Steve: [gives a sarcastically enthusiastic "thumb up"]
CJ: Okay... I'm in.
