While I was reading the book (in a bubble bath - where I read all my books) I had the thought, wouldn't it be cool if this was a movie.

So when I got dried off....and on my laptop - I took the main characters and chose actors/actresses to play them in the movie.

Here's who I chose:

Sherman - I'm thinking Someone oldish, who could kick ass, with authority - and I came up with - Tom Savini (I'm biased, he's a God!) Ok maybe Mark Harmon from NCIS - Cos he's got all the Character traits for a good Sherman.

Becky - Anna Paquin - (Rogue in X-men) I think she could play the part with the intensity it needs.)

Anna - Kathleen Quinlin (She has the age, and I think the balls to pull off the part - she was brilliant in Event Horizon)

Julie -  Charlize Theron (she's a brilliant actress - enough said!)

Mbutu - Jimmy Jean-Louis (The Haitian from Heroes!) enough said - he's perfect for him.

Denton - David Duchovny - He would give him the necessary wit needed for the character.

I give up.....I will probably change my mind once I hear other peoples input....

So Z - who would you like to play your characters?

Thomas would definitely be Sam Elliott.

Brewster would not be played by an actor. Brewster would be played by another character, and that character is Private Hudson.

Those are my two choices. Yours are pretty good. Your choice for Mbutu is dead-on; that guy is very close to the kind of person I see in my head.

Bruce Willis would make a great Sherman.

Sherman would have to be played by George C. Scott.

   back when he played Patton.

You've lost your mind.
Sam Elliott should play Sherman and Djimon Hounsou (the African from GLADIATOR) should play Mbutu

I was lobbying for Stargate when she said it would be a shame if I was be left alone with the kids for the weekend.
It was an easy choice.  If you knew my kids you would have done the same.

(besides who don't don't like the Queen?)

No way man. Sam Elliott is definitely Thomas. Check out that We Were Soldiers flick. The way Elliott plays the old sergeant in that is exactly how I see Thomas in my head. He's the only one I'm 100% sure about casting. The rest are up for grabs.

I'll give you John Cusack as Denton, but Gary Sinise does need a role. That guy rules.

I don't know the name of the Blood Diamond actor, but good god damn, that was a great movie, mainly due to his intense acting. Mbutu's a bit more reserved than that, but I could see the guy doing a great job.

kkid, I can totally see Beetle playing Brewster in my head.

maybe we can fit Nic Cage in there somewhere too....I didnt like him that much until I saw Lord of War....that was a fine film...seriously, I know most have seen it...but if on the odd chance you havent...just buy it...Also Viggo Mortensen..he aint bad...Anyone see A History of Violence?...another fine film..anyways Im ramblin again...

Dude!!! I just thought of somethin..Stiffler should play Brewster...that would lend the much needed comedic relief in the movie...
