Yeah, I see where he mentions them, but what do they do?

No problemo!

I meant, if elucidated was a word.  Not elucidate.

I'm not sure. I know you can use CO2 cartridges as mini-hand grenades by filling them with black powder and sticking a fuse in the top and sealing it with candle wax, but I don't know how to make a bomb out of carbon dioxide.

Oh, uh...as to how I know this...well, my brother and I grew up in the country. There's not a lot to do out there. So, uh...we lit things on fire a lot.

RCS, sure is! It's one of the inflected forms: elucidated and elucidating both. For example: "Joe's explanation really elucidated the subject for me." and "I hope I find Joe's explanation elucidating." =)

Googled it and copy and pasted relevent info. Also I have seen them on YouTube.

 carbon dioxide bomb

While such pressures are no problem for pressure-tested gas cylinders or fire extinguishers, ordinary containers (soda bottles, paint thinner cans, Thermos containers etc.) can not handle such pressures and will explode and create shrapnel if solid carbon dioxide is sealed inside them. Putting solid carbon dioxide into any sort of closed container (glass, plastic, metal etc.) is exceedingly dangerous and is likely to result in severe personal injury or death.

If, after reading the above paragraphs, you are even thinking about making a carbon dioxide bomb as a "prank", you are a complete idiot. Not only is the risk of injury or death very high, in many states constructing, possessing or using such a d

Oh... he means putting dry ice in a jar? Well, I guess his term does sound way cooler. How about "CDO Bomb?"

Z: "Dev, give me a CDO, I'm gonna light those bastards up."
DEV: "Hailz to the yizzeah! I gotta like a hundred of em on my pockets."
Z: "Oh, with these puppies, all I need is one."

Then there's the old Drop-A-Load bomb that just makes a big stink.

Determine what level of armor is needed and how to kill the darn things.  Next, figure out how they communicate and orient on "prey".  Once you have this information, your weapons will be easy to figure out.

At the very least, you'll need a hand weapon for silent kills.  I'd go for a mace and probably a tomahawk since either will be able to crush the skull and spine.  Leg hits will slow them down to allow escape.

Suppressors would be mandatory and would require a raid on a Class 3 store.  The advantage of the handgun or suppressed 22 is that they're almost completely silent.  Larger rifles, such as the AR-15, are quite loud.  The suppressor simply makes it more difficult to determine the direction the shot came from.  If the zombies use their moan to summon other zombies, the suppressed rifle won't matter.  I'd still get one to deal with humans, but would rely more upon a suppressed pistol or rifle in 22 LR.

Armor is the key.  I'd probably go for some sort of leather reinforced with washers (a sort of studded leather).  Some sort of throat piece will be needed, as well as gauntlets.  A riot helmet may be good so long as the face shield cannot be removed or raised easily.  So long as you're sufficiently protected, you should be able to fight your way clear if you don't get piled on too badly.

A decent Honda CRF250R                                 off road bike to travel on.

Weapon wise Id have:
1 Samurai sword
1 sniper rifle
1 silenced handgun which would have to be pretty powerful

Id carry a backpack with: Ammo,  A water canteen, some long life food, night vision goggles and a mini first aid kit. Travelling light but Id be hoping to move from town to town and do a fiar bit of scavenging in the process.

To finish I have my Ipod with the best of AC/DC and Kiss to listen to while I take care of business.

You want an AR-15 in .223/5.56 (some stores have 5.56, so make sure the barrel's stamped for both) with a 20-inch barrel.

The general rule is that rifles chambered in 5.56mm can easily shoot .223, but it's not always true the other way around.  So if you're going to get a semi-auto rifle in that caliber, your best bet is to get one chambered in 5.56mm.

Surefire makes a good light.  And, trust me, I can't find a weapon-mountable flashlight that runs anything like AAs (unless you want to go find a cheapy one, which works sometimes.  ZH has one mounted on his AK-74).

And no tool necessary.

Glock or Springfield Armory XD.  If you're new to the market, get something that has trouble failing on you.  Both of those have great track records as being completely reliable.

Glock:

XD:

Of course if you aren't into polymer pistols, or these are too much coin for your budget, there's always the cheaper alternative: Bugarian Makarov
http://www.jgsales.com/product_info.php/p/bulgarian-makarov-9x18%2C-w-holster-very-good-condition/products_id/4118?osCsid=d9aa059e64bda47c9c6f4de44b490618

(There's a reason Spetsnaz still usethe Mak)

But you need to go out and find yours.  I did.  Found a XD9 subcompact, and I love the hell out of it.

My guarantee wouldn't carry over to your firearm, considering you have the larger 7.62. But still, I'll definitely give you the update and/or recommendation.

That's what I figured, but I'm willing to try just for the cheapness of it (and the fact it can take common batteries).  Thanks.

That's the best part, man. The pure economics of the situation is more than enough reason to give it a whirl. I like your attitude .
