I found the first (last?) Star Trek in 2009 to be pretty awesome. I didn't know what to expect going into it, as the entire franchise was rebooted. But I thought they did a marvelous job with the acting and the writing and the overall production. They got a really solid group of actors. Every time it's on TV I can't help but watch it, because it really does suck me in.

So, as to be expected, they've got sequels up their sleeves. I really hope the next one is (in my opinion) as good as the last one. I find it hard to believe that JJ Abrams will put out another one that's just as good. But we'll see. Of course, I've also got a lot of faith in Abrams, in that he wouldn't put out or move forward with a piece of work that he wasn't proud of or doesn't believe in. So I think even if it isn't as good, I highly doubt that it could possibly be bad. So that's good news. Overall I'm excited for it.

I think Pine has the charisma it takes to lead the films, so I can deal.

And DUDE! Fucking Karl Urban is the MAN. He holds Bones down SO GOOD. Love it. Love it. He's one of my favorite actors, man. He's awesome. I hope you pick up the Blu-ray for Dredd! I had it preordered before it came out on the 8th. It's great.

Support Dredd as much as you can, for my sake, because I really want a sequel and the box office only garnered about half of what they spent on the damn thing. Super shame, man. It's an air-tight adaptation.

Even though i have a blue ray player in my ps3 i still stick with regular dvds so im not limited in watching platforms. The only blue ray i own is the kingdom of heaven blue ray and i only got that because its the only format which has the extended directors cut which really does add alot to the backstory of OB's character in that.

Oh and i agree i would really like Karl to break through as action leading man i saw dredd in the theater and was disappointed by its low box office due to how cool of a movie it is despite a low budget.

When I was a tyke and Star Trek was on TV, I never gave it much of a chance because I had been exposed to Star Wars first. Laser swords and dogfights in space win over karate chops, you know? But the new movie kind of blew me out of my socks, so I've been slowly watching the original series, and can't wait for the sequel. Besides, Sherlock is going to be the bad guy, so how can it not be awesome?

Oh, and plus one for Karl Urban as Judge Dredd. He's got a powerful scowl.

For real, Cumberbatch is blowing up right now, man. Talk about a career boom. He's the Necromancer in The Hobbit as well.

Also, on the topic of Benedict Cumberbatch:

For sure, man. Sauron himself. Though I don't know why he was even credited in the first Hobbit flick that just came out. I saw his name when the credits rolled and I was like uhhh..... there was only a silhouette to go on. Hardly worth a casting credit for this one. haha
