Does the US Goverment have policies on what to do with Cat A prisoners in disaster situations?

Over here "Cat A" are murders, sex offenders etc. The most dangerous of the lot.

Probably not, aside from keeping them locked up.

The thing you have to remember is that the United States has many different jurisdictions all with their own rules and policies.  I think you might find that their are as many different levels of preparedness and different policies as there are prisons and jails in the US.  Some States might be more uniform than others.  It's almost like asking, "Does the EU have policies on what to do with Cat A prisoners in disaster situations?"

Most federal prisons, and CT state prisons, have evacuation procedures for any type of disaster.  My professor that taught my Corrections course was a LT for a state prison, and he stressed their readiness for any situations that may arise; whether it be an external or internal threat.

The reason I ask is due to watching a programme about American Gangs. It showed the power and influence they had even inside. The thought of these animals having free roam in a disaster is frightening.
