Alright friends and neighbors, it's that time. If you have any material from Z that didn't make it to me for Survivors, now's the time for it to see the light of day and be included in the saga. Doug and I are formulating what's to come next, and there isn't a whole lot left from Z's notes; we're trying to include as much as humanly possible of his own vision.

SO. If you had anything passed to you, and you've been holding on to it for just such an occasion... well, for Survivors would have been perfect, but this is perfect, too. Hah.

It's also time to say what you'd like to see in the next set of books. Keep in mind that we haven't nailed don how long after the initial trilogy this will be. And hey, we're only human, ourselves, and everything we're going to do goes through an approval process. Some of the suggestions you have might be goddamn gold, but if they get nixed... well, what's stopping you from writing your own zombie book? Hee.

Well, I guess it would depend on how when the follow up books take place as to how relevant any info Z shared.....wouldn't it?  If takes place at the onset and your story takes place 10 years on....meh.  Would it still be useful.

If it's unreleased, we want to use it.

I don't know...you guys kinda sucked at the last novel.  You didn't ask for any imput when doing the last novel, didn't give us shit for info until it came out.  You really didn't include the fans or community here as part of the creative process, knowing that we probably knew Z's writing better than any of you guys; not that you were obligated to, but still no consideration at all at that time.  A douche move on Permuted Press's part, IMO.
I'm kinda worried you guys would totally fuck up anything we gave you.

Oh, we didn't? Or maybe you didn't participate when the publisher asked. Go ahead and read the thread, see your helpful input when Jacob asked for it, or when I asked in this thread.

Oh, we didn't? I must have hallucinated the 18 pages of this thread.

I can't decide how to take this. Are you being selectively forgetful? Because you've said this stuff before, and I didn't say anything then. I thought maybe it had just slipped your mind, or something. But no, that isn't it, obviously.

You've gone from "I thought you had this stuff. Why didn't you ask for it?" before to "Now that you've asked for this stuff, I don't want to give it to you."

Support it or don't. Personally, I've had about everything I'm going to take from you. Keep your files, if you have them, and rejoice that by hoarding the words, you're removing that much more of Z's words and ideas from the new business. I'm sure the rest of the fan community will thank you.

I don't care anymore; by the things you've said to and about me, and are saying right now, you're being a fantastic asshole about Morningstar, like it's something you own or you're some kind of superfan with a deeper knowledge than anybody else. You've pretty constantly, ah, suggested that I completely disregarded what I'd gotten from the family, called bullshit, or have told me that I suck as a writer.

So. I don't need that. Send me your address, so I can send you a $20 bill for the copy of Survivors you bought and we can be done with any future dialog.

Diva here, just chiming in on the subject real quick.

So many things have happened here over the last couple of years that have shifted the focus away from Z's vision for this place, and his books. With Z gone, it seems that this place has become less about Zach Recht and his legacy, and more about being a clubhouse for a handfull of members that hardly post here anymore on a regular basis. Sorry to point that out, but it's true. However, I'm not here to denigrate anyone. Instead of pushing people away, Z would want us all to pull together.  This is about Zach Recht and The Morningstar Saga!

Armydillo has stepped up on more than one occasion in order to keep the dream alive for Z, and I know he means well, even if his criticisms were a little harsh. His opinion is valid, as are everyone's here, but respectfully, those of you here who are not writers cannot fathom the level of difficulty and skill it takes to piece a story together from bits and pieces of notes. I can tell you, Z didn't write in chronological order and left gaps open to return to later so that he could tie up loose strings and fill in the plot holes. He was all over the place, and didn't leave an outline, as far as I know. He used to send me chapters, most incomplete (and out of order), unfortunately when I recently tried to open what files I thought I had saved, I found they are corrupted. Other chats and discussions directly with Z are lost to the forums, as I was banned on my old account and cannot access those PMs. That's a shame, since there was a LOT of discussion there. I am so sorry for that.

I just wanted to say, that Armydillo is a standup guy, and wants the best for Z's books. And I wanted to say that Thom (Potential Spectre) has the best intentions as well for Z's books. NOBODY has worked harder to do what he has done for Z's series. Permuted may be the publisher, but Thom did the hardest part: the writing. He had to pull it all together from very little. He has worked closely with Z's parents who were able to provide him with a folder of Z's personal notes from his files. But it's not enough on its own.

Thom is doing this for Z, for Z's family, Z's friends, and finally, for Z's fans. The members of this forum are certainly fans of Z's, but they're not his only fans. He's come here to ask for help, if anyone can, to continue Z's legacy.
