So I've only recently discovered the majesty of this game (I don't own a PS3). I thoroughly, thoroughly enjoy playing it whenever I'm at my buddy's house and have the chance. He only has the first one, but we'll be picking up the second one soon enough.

It's just a super well-conceived puzzle-style platformer with a great engine, and it really caters to the creativity of the user since it allows people to create their own levels. I hear the second one is even better, so I'm pretty eager to get my hands on it and waste a lot of precious time just fuckin around. We've already wasted hours and hours on ridiculous bomb-survival levels. It's just too fun, man.

The series has been out for years now, so I assume plenty people here are familiar with it if they have a PS3. Anyone else enjoy this game?

I got this free when the onl;ine shop got hacked and everyone got like 3 free downloads to make up for the hassle.  I played it for about 20 minutes and could not figure out what the hell was going on and what the big deal was.  I deleted it off my hard drive because I ran out of space to dl something else.

Hah! Yeah I can see that. The interface at the 'home screen' is definitely weird, and when I first played it I didn't really understand what was going on. But essentially it's part side-scroller and part puzzle game. And I guess I particularly enjoy the game because I only play it with friends. I don't think it's a game I would play if I only used consoles ny myself (which is borderline never these days). So I guess I didn't really consider that when I posted this.

But just about all the content is user-created, and so all kinds of crazy things are possible. The engine is really good, which is one of the things that makes the game so fun: everything is really seamless and the graphics are solid. There are certain levels that are just 'bomb survival' where bombs fall from the sky and blow the destructible environment to pieces while you try to survive. And when the environment can go down an entire mile (as the surface continues to get blown to shit) it gets really fun.

Essentially it's somewhat of a party game, or a game you'd play with your friends.

I gave this to a friend I know to sort of introduce her to gaming and she didn't much care for it.  I think I'll get a PS3 next year (when the price drops) and see what the whole hubub was about.
