It makes me upset to admit I just recently purchased the MSS books a few weeks ago. I was reading Plague of the Dead in my compound (I'm in the United States Navy) and a Petty Officer walked up to me and started excitedly telling me how he enjoyed these books. When he told me the author had passed, I was greatly upset. I have not read such detailed, perfectly written zombie books in my life, and am looking forward to the third installment and other Permuted Press books. Anyway, back to my introduction. My name is Thomas, known by friends as Tommy or online as flu1d or kilroyjones. Ive been a HUGE horror fanatic ever since I was a little kid thanks to my Dad who got me involved at a ridiculously young age haha. Zombies have always been my favorite, and since I was a kid I couldn't help but fantasize, with a stupid grin on my face, about zombies. It all started with George A. Romero and others. I am also a pretty avid gamer, I love to write music (mostly the lyrics), stories, and I love to play music. I hope to meet some pretty awesome folks on here who love the apocalypse as much as I do. If curious about anything else, just ask.

Good to meet you.  My dad was a 10-year Navy man.  He did welding, primarily; but he was also on the fire fight crew and nearly becamse a SEAL (he had a family so they opted him out).  Anyway, this isn't about my dad, it's about welcoming you.  Hope your stay is good.

I appreciate the welcome, and I can honestly get into a conversation with anyone about anything. How long have you been into the horror (and or zombie) scene?

Years, literally.  My dad got me into zombies when I was 7 or 8 (I'm 22 this wed, so that long).  I think now that zombies are the shit, I've gotten out of it.  I'm more into guns than zombies now.  It used to be the other way around.

Well, I'm going to be 23 in September, my Dad got me into it when I vwas around 4ish, although I didnt really know what I was watching, I remember thinking it was real, As I got older, I fell in love. I'm into guns myself, I own an AK-47 custom rail with flashlight attachment and a master key (2 banana clips to go with it, and tons of 7.62), Glock 9mm, and my ol' S&W .357 6 shooter that my Stepdad passed down to me. I aspire to own my buddies Ruger Mini-14 and his Mosin Nagant, I love to shoot them both. As far as Zombies being cool, hey.. If thats what it takes to get more big named directors to start putting work and thought into making some great zombie flicks, I'm all for it.. One thing I'll agree on though is when you see a group of young kids wearing a bracelet that says "I <3 Zombies Tee Hee!" from Hot Topic, yeah.. I get annoyed. I do however see myself one day passing down my collection of Zombie films (and Horror in general) to my children when I have some eventually.

Howdy

Glad to see another horror enthusiast around here.  I too mourn the hot-topicification of zombies, and I miss the days when they were more of a niche thing.  I'm sorry to say that I think we are in a down-swing for zombies, when people roll their eyes at the thought of "another" zombie movie coming out.  But that will pass.

I was into horror early on too, but I didn't really "discover" zombies until later in late high school and in college, thanks to the Halloween holiday and some dedicated friends.

What were some of those early horror movies, or that "one" movie, that converted you at such a young age?

I remember watching the original Night of the Living Dead with my Dad as a kid, and of course Dawn and Day, as well. He also had the ''Return of the Living Dead" movies. I remember Brain Dead and some other films he had, and TONS of not known at all cheesy 70's and 80's low budget horror movies, including some that were zombie flicks. He also taught me at a young age to have a love for Nosferatu haha. Its a lifestyle and hobby for me, horror is. And I hope to write a zombie horror movie sometime before I die. But thats just a dream,

Mexican Zombie Hunter is the post whore.  He is our resident slave labor from Mexico.  Ask him to do ANYTHING for a 1.00 and he will jump on it!

RedNeckZombieHunter is well,…..a redneck from MY neck of the woods.

Creeper is out there risking his ass to save ours everyday!

Nyghtreaver has the best avatar EVER!

Jake1100 is the resident 18 year old horn dog who gets tail like Derek Jeter.
