I think we should buy another copy of plague of the dead and donate it to a library either public or learning institution. It would expand Z's legacy. and we'd get new member.

Hmm.  Not a bad idea.

Problem is that I'm in the bible belt and they don't take kindly to zombies and other witchcraft.

I'd donate a few bucks to that idea.

Here is what arecht posted in December of last year:

"I am Zach's mother and want his fans to know that we have set up a nonprofit memorial fund for Zach. It will be used to enhance his passion for everything involved in writing. You may send contributions to Z A RECHT SCHOLARSHIP-MEMORIAL FUND, P.O. Box 193, Bunker Hill WV 25413.

If you have any poems or stories about Zach that you might like us to have, please use the above address. We are grateful to all of you for you loyalty and support to Zach over the years. We are currently getting the last book in the series together for publishing and hope to have it out early in 2010. Zach's wit and intelligence will be so missed by us, and I'm sure by all of you. He was a wonderful son! "

*sigh*

I know what Z thought, and I see what his family posted. Two different things.

Based off "my" personal experiences...family will never understand the military mind perfectly unless they were military themselves. My Dad understands 100% (Marine), my brother 60%, my mother %20, my wife 90% (married her while I was still active duty), my kids 40%.

It varies depending on how much they've shared and experienced while that person was in the service.

If Z-man said he wants such and such done...I would go with that easily over what his family says....why? 'Cause Z-man knows that shit we've experienced...his family, not so much. Z was a dog-face. He earned that name and the respect that I give to that.

Now...what would Z want done? I'm betting he'd be in sync with MHZ....he always was a troop supporter, having been one himself.

I'm gonna go with buying the book, and sending it via one the troop support outfits.

It's kind of funny when they pop on through though.
