One of my favorite movies ever.  I honestly could not tell you how many times I watched that movie.  It HAS to be in the thousands.

Sadly... All I've got for watching material in my bag is...

The Condemned, Evolution, Zombieland, District 9, The Dark Knight, Resident Evil: Degeneration, Alien vs. Predator and Alien vs. Predator: Requiem.

Well, two of those are in my bag, two are on my laptop and the last four are sitting in my desk where I forgot them months ago.

I didnt actually expect anyone to know it, it was an absolute garbage straight to video movie from the 80's called the Dogs of(or from) hell.

basically a bunch of science enhanced rottweilers get loose near a small hick town, so they form a posse.
the line went...i have to paraphrase as its been 20+ years.....

hick#1 Carl those dogs are blacker than your soul,

Carl: well, when i see em i'll give that dog a chinese name... one gone.

That line is the only thing of value in the 90 minute peice of crap. if not for that line i would have forgotten the movie.

+1 for Zed.

Advantages:

(1) Single syllable / good for radio comms
(2) Rhymes with dead
(3) Begins with Z - 'nuf said

It's pretty hard to argue with that kind of logic, Panic.  Well done.

Yeah, I've always been a fan of "Zed," but definitely had not looked at it from a technical standpoint like how Panic broke it down. But it's definitely the only one.

Well call signs for zombies would differ from social circle to social circle.

I could see the military calling them "Zulu Tango" brevity code for Zombie Target.

The Scientific community would call them "R.D" short for Reality Deviants.

The Media would choose something like "Walking Dead" for effect.

The Academic Circles would call them "Livor Mortis" Latin for bluish color death.

If anyone else has a realistic call sign for social circles please post them.

I'm still stuck on Romeo Charlie's (Reanimated Corpses)

Reason - (1) George Romero and (2) we can re-use the term "Charlie's at the wire mannnnn......" lol

It stands as a defense against the forces of zombies , which would plunge the world into chaos and drag humanity into the very depths of fear and madness. The demons known as zombies , and their eternal hunger for destruction. To ensure that zombies never take hold on this world, this Academy was founded. So basically we're an organization that serves to protect and preserve peace! I guess it's not exactly a typical school. Oh well, that isn't important! For now, lets roll up our sleeves and get to work!

Wouldn't matter if it was just a viral outbreak or zombies I'll stick with the term used in the service- "Infected".
Would have to wait to see if the infected exhibited a variety before assigning other call signs to match them and would most likely adopt the military calls if any had been created.
