What caused it? This is a good example of the SHTF......

They still don't know why it happened... cool read.

From what I've heard, people are surprised the power is running currently in that area.

I remember that day well.  At first everyone at my work was thinking another terrorist attack.  We all headed outside and hung out for a little bit talking nervously.  My boss called it a day and we all headed home.  I stopped at the liquor store, bought a 12 pack of Corona and headed to my parents house (just a few blocks away) and hung out all night drinking beer in the dark.  It was actually pretty sweet.

Now that I think of it I think when we have kids I am going to cut the power once a month or so because as it is now we spend too much time online.  I can only imagine how it will be with kids.

I will call it black out day or something.

Makes me think of the book I just finished.  One Second After by William R. Forstchen.  Its about an EMP that wipes out electronics across the entire country.  Pretty good, i think most people here would enjoy it.

Very good book.  Very realistic and somewhat depressing when you imagine how low people can go to survive.

Thats why you gotta tell a funny joke. Keep 'em smiling and you'll know where everyone is.

The ban hammer? I merely advocate the use of laughter as a means of making potential threats more visible.
